Evaluation

EVALUATION

We decided to film in the college gym because we wanted the advert to look sporty. A trainer comes into the gym and he is exhausted and tired. His coach tells him to get ready for his exercises and training,
because he is very tired and out of energy he is unable to do well. His coach gets very angry and tells him to leave. when he drinks the Lucozade he starts to feel dizzy and his heart beat gets faster. He feels full of energy and does brilliantly for the rest of the day, he even beats his coach. Then the product appears with the website on it and there is narration over the top of the picture.

first we did a presentation about how we were going to make the advert and we found out more about the product itself. That helped us to get ideas more easily and quickly. Then we went to film based on our story boards and our plans. we didn't have any issues about equipment like cameras and tripods. We were very organised and worked well as a team. This is because we communicated well and we were always highly motivated. We also spoke to the teachers as a group and they agreed to let us have the gym to ourselves for a couple of hours.

When looking at the final product the aspect that most pleased me is the sound effects we put in there. this is because we also wanted the advert to be funny and the sound effects reflects the video and makes it humorous.

When comparing our advert to a professional standard I noticed that they have used brighter colours than us and there is higher level of contrast in their pictures. We both based our advert on a sport because it reflects our target audience. Their advert uses more upbeat music and super slow motion videos and I think this is the reason their advert looks more lively.

The persuasive techniques we have used in our advert were humour, narrative and a well known song that everyone can remmember. We used these techniques because it would appeal towards our target audience which was aged between 13-34. I think our advert would be successful to sell the product because we have taken all the research into account that would get the attention of the consumers that we had in mind.

Our target audience were people aged between 13-34, who enjoy sport, race and ethnicity didn't matter for our product. our target social class is people in working class, they live in an urban area and have a streetwise attitude.

People liked the humorous feel that we have put into our advert and they have also liked the voice over and soundtracks. However I wasn't happy with the framing, shakiness of the camera, lighting and focusing of the camera.
Next time to avoid these problems we have to plan in more detail to get better quality videos and take all these elements into account so that it will improve on our picture quality. We also have to be sure that the sound quality is also good and it must be clear.

Task 5

  1. Bentley continental advert
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y35GHoqCGUk

Audience Demographics - I think this advert is targeted at people described in band A because the product that is being promoted is a highly expensive sports car. The age group who will be persuaded by this kind of advert is 35-65 years old because the car is a fast sports car and some of the elements used in the advert are more likely to be appreciated by executive men in well paid jobs.

     2. Nike cage advert

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43ItX_bPR1o

Audience Demographics - I think this advert is targeted at people described in bands C2, D and E because they can afford the product that is being promoted. Also, the advert uses famous footballers that young people will recognise and look up to. The age group is between 14-30 because the footballers used are from different eras.

     3. ipod nano advert

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PK2WulMuyDs

Audience Demographics - This advert is aimed at people aged between 16-50 in all the bands. the quality of the product is high so everybody likes to have one. All different kind of people are shown in the advert in all different races. The colours used in this advert are quite bright because it is more appreciated by young people and they listen to music more.

Film Noir Script

the story starts with a couple who have problems and film starts with clip of their problems and the kind of behaviour they show to each other like fighting when husband comes from work, shouting to each other and arguing about little things that aren't that important. They are a wealthy family who have no children and live in a grand house.

One day she goes mad and decides to kill her husband when he comes home. She murders him with a kitchen knife that was on the dinner table, and she stabs him in his back. She then realizes that she is in trouble and she is going to get court and probably executed. So she goes to this private detective and asks for help which meant getting her out of trouble.

the detective agrees to so this because he was attracted by the beauty of the woman,  and since he was a police officer himself he knew how to set-up a scene that will look like it was somebody else who committed the murder.

The detective does everything and at the end of this story they achieved their evil goal and that was to hide all the evidence that showed the wife did the murder. They get away with it and become successful.

Video analysis 1

Title: David Blaine Street Magic (YouTube Edition)

This video is an example of a ''User generated video'' because it is created by amateurs who probably have a little experience of video making.
In this film they have tried to create a spoof version of David Blaine (the magician) street magics in a humorous way and copied some of his reactions towards the camera.

In this video david blaine is on his way ince again for his street magics and he gets two people from new york and makes fool out of them. As we get toward the end of the video the hate between these two people and david blaine gets stronger.

The actor that is playing the david blaine part have used make up to make himself look like david blaine and make the video more believable for the audience.

The group have done a very good job all together and created a  good quality if work. One of the reasons is that they have wrote a whole new script and dialogue. and everything is well planned and also the idea is new.

Target Audience: I think this video must share audience with original david blaine's fans, so I predict the age group that watch this video could be between 15-30.

Digital Platform: Internet

The purpose of this video is to create a humorous short film for the people around the world and show your ability of making funny films and getting popular.

Viral Marketing definition

Viral marketing videos is spread like a virus. For example somebody might create a funny video and send it to all their friends by e-mail and tell them to send it to their friend and so on. we see vrial marketing adverts in e-mail, facebook, cinema and where advertising is cheap.

User generated video definition

In this type of video the final product is created by the user and all the cost is down to them. Most people that create user generated video are amateurs*. The video could be a family video posted on youtube or facebook for sharing it along with friend or it can also be a professional standard piece of work created by a student.

Amateur: The person who creates the product does not get paid for his work.

Video analysis 2

Title of the Video: Awareness test

What happens in the video:
the narrator tells the audience to count the passes in the white team and the black team would try to catch the ball from them. A man in a bear costume walk in the middle of them but no body pays attention to him because they are busy counting. When the narrator reveals what happens the audience gets shock because it was too obvious and they didn't see it.

Target audience: This advert is created for drivers, specially the young ones who don't pay much attention to what's going on around them. there is no particular sex for this advert but age group could be anyone between 17-25.

Digital platform: Internet

The purpose of this video:
the main purpose of this video was to make people aware of how important something they are not paying attention to could be and decrease the accidents between cars and cyclist. Because the advert then refers to to the cyclist because they get ignored by car drivers. This advert is not created to promote any product and it was created to change people's behaviour.

Video analysis 1

Title of Video: XBox

About the advert
The video starts in the hospital and the mother of a baby is trying to give birth to his child. as she screams and pushes the baby out, the baby shoots out of her and gets smashed towards the window and flies out. As the baby flies in the sky naked he gets older and at the end he drops into a grave. Then the slogan appears.
This advert was created for the TV but it was banned because the baby ended up in the grave. So the agency decided that this advert should go viral because it was humorous.

The quality of the video is alright but it was reduced due to file compression.

Target audience: this advert is more likely to appeal on men, aged between 5 to 40 because the advert suggest that the age is not relevant to playing. And the second reason is that the boy gets older and in each shot so it represents the age group.

Digital platform video would appear on: Internet

purpose of this video:
the purpose of this advert is to persuade people to use xbox to play with, and increase the popularity of the product in the market.
